Name that Frog

For all of you that are so wonderful to care about Spencer, he is feeling much better today. No fever and getting into all things as usual. Thank you for all the good thoughts and prayers. They worked!

I am a lover of frogs. I have so many frog based items and I still could not get enough. They adorn my home from salt and pepper shakers and cookie jars to my cubicle at work where I have the cutest figurines that some days are my only friends. I have wanted to get a live frog for years but haven't taken the initiative to get things rolling. Tonight I decided I needed to go get some books as I am on my last one and read every day here at home and on my lunch break. The store that I planned on going to was closed, so we took a detour to the pet store. I planned on looking at some fish as I have lost a few in my tank recently and it's looking pretty empty. Well I immediately went to look at the frogs and the owner got his own frog out of her cage and let me hold her. She is about five years old and a beautiful teal color. I loved her and wanted her right then. John started asking questions on care and cost while I talked to the fat frog in my hands as if we were buddies. Spencer was whining something fierce, wanting to go straight home, not collecting $200. The frog leaped a good two feet and landed (stuck) to the aquarium next to us. It was really neat!

Anyway, I will have my new frog friend on Friday! John, wouldn't take no for an answer when I said it would cost too much to get the tank set up, let alone purchasing the frog itself. I didn't fight back very hard because I was already trying to come up with a name for my newest family member! Isn't he (John) a sweetheart?

I have to clean out my fish tank, return the fish to the pet store and decide on my frog's new living quarters. This is like way too much excitement and I can't wait for the week to be done! These frogs are called White's tree frogs and can grow up to four inches and live an average of 15 years. They are very friendly and don't mind human contact. I have included some pictures below of what it may look like. I will be getting a cute little baby one.

Please help me name him/her. I could use some suggestions for either sex. I kind of like Conrad or Scarlett (green frog?). I could use some help here!!!

This will be gone tomorrow!

I would like to enter this contest. I recommend a frog that size needs a distinguished name like:

Hognuts (after Rich of course)
Frogpouch
Toodles
Brutus (with matching spiked collar)

Now I am off to dig worms and find some rats to feed this thing... doh!

How about Corneilis, (I am a terrible speller so just sound it out) Stanley, Killer, Wilber, or Harvey if its a male. And if its a female (I do like Scarlett) Jesibell, Mabel, Sonya, Mildrid, Grechin, or Pennelope.....that's all I've got for now. If I come up with anymore, I'll let you know at work.
I can't wait to meet him/her!!
:)

I don't know why but Brutus popped into my head right away after seeing that first picture, lol. I'll have to ask Sam. He always has funny names for pets!

"ribbit"
