To my great surprise, I received a phone call from my brother Chris tonight. I have been walking around the house and smiling ever since. This one phone call meant more to me than I could ever say. He didn't have much time to talk but we made the most of it by talking all at once and with great speed! Chris has grown so much as a person since he left for basic training and since graduated. He has learned to cook, dropped 35 pounds and became muscular, quit smoking and has such pride in his voice, it could make an angel weep. He is in the top of his class academically with a 99%. This part does not surprise me as Chris has always been very intellectual, just in the past he has exercised it mainly on video games! I was so happy to hear his voice, yet a part of me was sad, as I could tell how much he misses his family and beyond the hard work, excitement and achievements he has made, he cannot wait to spend some quality time with those he loves most.
He is very excited also with where he will be stationed. I will not steal his glory by posting it here in case he hasn't had a chance to talk to other family members.
Chris, you have really become a fine young man and I am proud to call you brother...
This is Chris and Michelle two years ago with Chris's oldest daughter Naomi. She looks so much like her daddy, doesn't she?
