A Perfect Fit ~ Miss Macie

Miss Macie. Macie May. Wittle Wittle. Whatever name she may be called, I absolutely completely love this little girl. The whole family loves her and she loves us back. She is sweet, beautiful and a bit sassy to boot.


Macie has been a part of our family since the end of April. She is a 3 year old Min Pin that already has a forever place in my heart. Can you believe we found her on craigslist for mere pocket change? The saying that one's person junk is another's treasure, certainly applies here. We are at least her 3rd family and I wouldn't give her up for anything. I fell in love with her instantly. I shamelessly carry her everywhere, I wrap her in blankets, giving her her own chair next to mine when I am on the computer and do the annoying baby talk (along with massive amounts of kisses). She is my babygirl.


Yet, I am not the only one in this house she has wrapped around her tiny paws... John, the guy who doesn't really like dogs (after all he is terribly allergic to most), may even be more smitten than I. To see a 6' 5" guy do baby talk and make sure she has her share of  blanket during naptime, is quite a sight. Something I never thought I would ever see. 


So, meet our precious girl. You will be seeing a lot of her in the future.

Photo Friday ~ Geometric

You never know when a photo opportunity will present itself. I see them everywhere. I am constantly in camera mode whether I have my cameras with me or not. I cannot help myself. Lucky for me, John indulges and even encourages this passion/obsession I have. Take this shot. I am hanging out the car window checking my settings while he calmly watches for traffic. He sees a stop sign, I see my best shot of the day waiting for me. Unplanned, spontaneous and in my mind's eye, brilliant.

Photo Friday ~ Detailed

As I am sure you have already realized, I am a macro girl at heart. The little details are fascinating to me and while I certainly am willing to photograph anything and everything that catches my eye, I often seek out and enjoy finding those that don't want to be found. Like this dragonfly, just waking up for the day, the dew still damp on it's wings. Look at all the intersections that make up just one wing. Reminds me of stained glass. Just beautiful!

I really do love rain. As a child, I played in the warm summer rain. As an adult, I have often wished I could. And yes, I have danced in the rain...I think everyone should know what it feels like.

Nothing makes me happier than when I see Spencer enjoying life. When he can take time to slow down and be content. His brain is often so busy; he is so easily overwhelmed. Days like this where I see him taking in his surroundings, or just enjoying the beauty God gave us, are days dear to my heart.

Friday Photo Link Ups & Happy Birthday to my Guy

This is one of my favorite photos from this summer. I couldn't figure out how I wanted to process it, so it has sat in a folder while I tried to make up my mind. I finally decided on high contrast and sharp tone, hoping to capture the expanse of the sky with it's volumes of clouds from a worm's eye view.

Also today is a super special day as it is John's birthday!!! He often gets robbed of his birthday with it following so closely behind Christmas but he is much too awesome to not be recognized. Plus, he puts up with Spencer and I! So I am wishing him the best day ever and I hope he knows how loved he is. We would be lost without him. Happy Birthday, Baby!

Mind Therapy, It Does a Body Good

This week's Photo Friday theme is Meditative. I could sit here at this spot for hours. Doing some of my favorite things in life. Reading, with my camera beside me, wildlife and nature at my feet. Meditating on life and how wonderful it can be, leaving my worries behind...

Do you have a favorite spot to sit and free your mind? Do you have hobbies that give you that much needed break from life's chaos? Retail therapy maybe? Hey, I'm all for a going on a shopping spree too. What time should I pick you up? ;-) 

I think we all need mind therapy. It's healthy not only to ourselves but to those around us too. Helps us keep our perspective, right? 

Only boring people, are bored. True story.

Wild Grapes ~ Photo Friday

Happy Friday, my friends! I can't say thank you enough to everyone who gave me feedback on a new name for my watermark. I had so many responses via Twitter, Facebook, here and through messages. You are all so good to me and I appreciate each one of you!


Here is what I am thinking? (see above photo) Sheri Lee was overwhelmingly chosen. I like the simple clean font (called Champagne and Limousines) along with the fade. My OCD kicks in a little and I want to capitalize everything but the flow is so much better with all small letters. Thoughts?

Photo Friday ~ Box Elder

This is a root of a large Box Elder tree growing in my backyard. Morning dew (taken around 7:30 a.m.) makes the outdoors so crisp in color. I added a tiny bit of contrast to these in Photoshop, nature did the rest.
